How We Approach
Your Wedding Events

This is not a job we show up to. It is a day we prepare for. Before we arrive, we have already studied your timeline, talked through the moments that matter most to you, and positioned ourselves to capture them.

That preparation is what allows us to be fully present rather than figuring things out as we go. In the sections below, learn more about our approach to each part of your wedding events.

Our Unique Approach To

Mehndi

The Mehndi is where the celebration truly begins. The energy is intimate and warm, full of laughter, henna, and the kind of candid moments that happen when everyone is relaxed and present. We document the details first: the intricate henna patterns, the jewelry, the décor. Then we let the room unfold naturally around us.

We stay alert for the fly-on-the-wall moments: the bride laughing with her cousins, the children running between guests, the quiet exchange between the bride and her mother. These are the images that bring the full texture of your celebration to life.

Our Unique Approach To

Sangeet

The Sangeet is one of the most visually dynamic events of any South Asian wedding and we treat it accordingly. Performances, dancing, the energy of the whole family together in one room. We cover the stage and the audience simultaneously, because half the story is always in the reactions.

We also know that Sangeet lighting can be challenging. Colored stage lights, dark reception halls, fast movement. Fifteen years of experience in exactly these conditions means the energy of the night comes through in every image, not just the ones where the light cooperated.

Our Unique Approach To

Bride Preparation

Getting ready is rarely just one mood and we match whatever energy is in the room. Quiet and reflective, or high energy with your whole family celebrating together. We read the room and document it honestly.

Before the chaos begins we take time with the details: your jewelry, your lehenga or saree, the bangles, the maang tikka. Then we stay alert for the fly-on-the-wall moments: the laugh you did not know anyone caught, the tears during the first look with your bridesmaids, the expression on your mother's face when she sees you for the first time.

Our Unique Approach To

Groom Preparation & Portraits

The groom's preparation deserves the same attention as the bride's. We start with the details: the sherwani, the safa, the watch, the small things that tell the story of the day. Then we let the moment unfold.

The nervous energy, the jokes with the groomsmen, the quiet moment before it all begins. Genuine emotion and genuine fun, documented without interference.

Our Unique Approach To

Bridal Party & Groomsmen Portraits

We shoot a mix of candid, editorial, and posed for both parties so the portraits feel dynamic rather than static. If time allows, we make a point of capturing an individual photo with each bridesmaid and each groomsman.

Every one of those relationships is unique and worth celebrating on its own.

Our Unique Approach To

The First Look

We scout the venue ahead of time to find a spot that is secluded, has good light, and gives you a genuine moment away from the crowd. We position ourselves at multiple angles before you arrive so we can capture both reactions simultaneously without either of you feeling watched.

For South Asian weddings where a traditional first look may not be part of the plan, we adapt our approach to honor your customs while still finding moments of connection to document.

Our Unique Approach To

Couples Portraits

We shoot a mix of the artistic and the traditional, static and movement-based poses, editorial and purely emotional. We work efficiently so you are never away from your guests longer than necessary during what is often a tightly packed day.

We know how to get two people who feel awkward in front of a camera to completely forget we are there.

Our Unique Approach To

Baraat

The Baraat is pure energy and we come ready for it. The dhol, the dancing, the groom arriving in full celebration with his family and friends around him. We cover the procession from multiple angles, capturing the movement, the joy, and the details: the decorated horse or car, the family dancing alongside, the moment the two families come together at the entrance.

Baraat lighting and movement can be challenging. Bright midday sun, mixed outdoor and indoor transitions, fast unpredictable action. We are experienced in exactly these conditions and we stay nimble throughout so nothing gets missed.

Our Unique Approach To

Ceremony

Every ceremony we cover, whether Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, or Christian, carries its own rituals, its own timing, and its own emotional high points. We study your ceremony in advance so we know what is coming before it happens.

Wide shots that capture the mandap or altar in full, medium shots that frame the two of you within the moment, and tight shots that catch the details: the exchange of garlands, the saat phere, the ring, the involuntary smile neither of you can hold back. The full story of your ceremony is never just what happens at the altar.

Our Unique Approach To

Family and Group Photos

We execute family formals efficiently so they never feel like a chore. South Asian weddings often involve large extended families and we are experienced at coordinating large groups quickly and warmly.

Our focus is on genuine expressions and beautiful light rather than stiff lineups. We keep things moving and mix in a few fun groupings alongside the traditional ones.

Our Unique Approach To

Reception

From open-air outdoor settings to large ballrooms with challenging mixed light, we know how to work every environment. The first dance, the toasts, the moment the dance floor opens and stays open.

We also know that the best reception images are rarely at the center of the action. They are the grandmother watching the couple from her seat, the hug between two old friends, the smile your partner gives you from across the room. We stay alert and we stay moving all night.

Our Unique Approach To

Sneak Out (Night Photo)

After the reception is in full swing we slip away with the two of you for fifteen to twenty minutes to create something different. A quieter moment away from the celebration, a creative frame, the venue or the night sky as your backdrop.

It is a chance to breathe, reconnect, and walk away with images that look and feel completely unlike anything else from your celebration. Optional but highly recommended.
