Lin and Jirsa Photography has documented weddings across Malibu since 2008. From mountaintop vineyard estates to oceanside ranches, we know the terrain, the light, and every hidden corner of this coastline.
Check Our AvailabilityMalibu is one of the most cinematic wedding destinations anywhere in California. The city combines 21 miles of Pacific coastline, the Santa Monica Mountains, working vineyards, and private ranch estates into a single stretch that offers an extraordinary variety of wedding settings. Couples can celebrate on a mountaintop vineyard at sunset, on a private ranch with vintage Americana architecture, or in a garden venue under century-old oak trees.
Lin and Jirsa Photography has photographed weddings at every major Malibu venue. As one of Los Angeles' premier wedding photography studios, we know how to work the dramatic terrain and the challenging light conditions that come with coastal mountain weddings. Whether you are planning a classic Calamigos Ranch celebration, a cliffside ceremony at Malibu Rocky Oaks, a vineyard wedding at Cielo Farms, or a sprawling ranch weekend at Saddlerock, we bring the preparation needed to deliver images that match the scale of this landscape.
Calamigos Ranch is one of the most comprehensive wedding properties in all of Southern California. The 200-acre estate contains multiple distinct ceremony sites, several reception spaces, and on-site accommodations that allow couples to host true multi-day wedding weekends without guests ever leaving the property. The Grand Oak ceremony site, with its enormous centerpiece oak tree, is one of the most photographed settings in Malibu. We have shot many weddings here, including multi-day South Asian celebrations that use nearly every corner of the ranch.

Malibu Rocky Oaks is arguably the most visually dramatic wedding venue in the entire Los Angeles region. The property sits on a mountaintop with 360-degree views of the Santa Monica Mountains and Pacific Ocean, and the signature helipad ceremony site is one of the most photographed locations in California wedding photography. The Tuscan-inspired main estate and vineyard grounds provide a natural continuation from ceremony to reception. Sunset at Rocky Oaks is one of the most remarkable lighting windows any Malibu venue offers.

Cielo Farms is a working vineyard and estate venue tucked into the hills above Malibu. The outdoor ceremony terrace overlooks rows of vineyard and the rolling Santa Monica Mountains, giving couples one of the most peaceful wedding settings in the region. The reception barn combines rustic architecture with refined finishes, and the interior photographs beautifully under warm string lighting. For couples who want a genuine wine country experience without traveling to Napa or Temecula, Cielo Farms is one of the best options in Los Angeles County.

Saddlerock Ranch is one of the largest and most distinctive wedding venues in the Malibu area. The 1,000-acre working ranch and vineyard property includes multiple ceremony and reception sites, including the historic Stone House, the Stable, and open hillside settings with sweeping valley views. The ranch also hosts wildlife including bison and zebras, which are frequently incorporated into wedding day portraits. Saddlerock is particularly well suited to couples who want a large, multi-setting wedding experience on a genuinely working ranch rather than a polished event property.
See Our Work at This Venue →El Matador is one of our favorite engagement locations in all of Southern California. The combination of towering sea stacks, sea caves, and dramatic cliff faces creates a natural cinematic backdrop unlike anything else on the Malibu coast. Late afternoon into sunset is when the beach comes alive on camera, as the low sun lights the rock formations from the side and the water goes through a range of color shifts. It does require a bit of a hike down to the sand, but the payoff is some of the most dramatic engagement imagery you can create in Los Angeles County.
Point Dume provides one of the most sweeping coastal overlooks in Malibu. The headland bluff offers elevated views across the Pacific and, on clear days, south toward Catalina Island and Palos Verdes. The combination of open cliff, native chaparral, and wide ocean makes Point Dume a great location for couples who want cinematic, uncluttered backgrounds with plenty of breathing room around the frame. Sunset here is particularly special and produces some of the most minimalist, editorial-feeling engagement portraits of any location in the region.
Lin and Jirsa Photography has photographed weddings across Malibu and the greater Los Angeles coastline since 2008. In that time we have built real familiarity with the unique photographic demands of Malibu weddings: managing challenging midday coastal light, working with mountain and cliff elevation changes, and coordinating multi-location coverage at sprawling ranch properties like Calamigos and Saddlerock.
We work with couples across every style of Malibu wedding, from intimate 50-guest cliffside ceremonies at Rocky Oaks to 400-plus guest multi-day ranch weekends. Every package includes a dedicated lead photographer, a thorough pre-wedding consultation, and online delivery of fully edited, high-resolution images with personal printing rights.
Wedding photography pricing in Malibu typically ranges from $3,500 to $10,000 or more. Larger estate and ranch venues often push budgets toward the upper end of that range due to the multi-location, multi-day coverage days they require. Lin and Jirsa Photography packages start at $3,950 and include a dedicated lead photographer, full-day coverage, and an online gallery of fully edited high-resolution images.

Yes. Malibu venues like Calamigos Ranch and Saddlerock are popular choices for multi-day Hindu, Sikh, and other South Asian wedding celebrations. Our team is fluent in the traditions, timelines, and coverage priorities of these events and has extensive experience coordinating multi-location coverage across large ranch properties.
Malibu weddings often involve harsh midday sun, unpredictable coastal fog, and dramatic sunset transitions that require careful planning. As part of your pre-wedding consultation, we help you plan your ceremony start time and portrait windows to take full advantage of golden hour and avoid the most challenging light. For venues like Rocky Oaks, we typically recommend ceremony times that capture both the sunset and the afterglow for portraits.
We recommend booking 12 to 18 months in advance. Peak season Saturdays at Calamigos, Rocky Oaks, Cielo, and Saddlerock book quickly, often more than a year out. Multi-day ranch wedding weekends tend to book even further in advance. If your date is sooner, it is still worth reaching out to check availability.
