Calamigos Ranch is one of the most comprehensive wedding properties in all of Southern California. The 200-acre estate contains multiple distinct ceremony sites, several reception spaces, and on-site accommodations that allow couples to host true multi-day wedding weekends without guests ever leaving the property. The Grand Oak ceremony site, with its enormous centerpiece oak tree, is one of the most photographed settings in Malibu. El Matador State Beach
El Matador is one of our favorite engagement locations in all of Southern California. The combination of towering sea stacks, sea caves, and dramatic cliff faces creates a natural cinematic backdrop unlike anything else on the Malibu coast. Late afternoon into sunset is when the beach comes alive on camera, as the low sun lights the rock formations from the side and the water goes through a range of color shifts. It does require a bit of a hike down to the sand, but the payoff is some of the most dramatic engagement imagery you can create in Los Angeles County.
Point Dume Bluffs
Point Dume provides one of the most sweeping coastal overlooks in Malibu. The headland bluff offers elevated views across the Pacific and, on clear days, south toward Catalina Island and Palos Verdes. The combination of open cliff, native chaparral, and wide ocean makes Point Dume a great location for couples who want cinematic, uncluttered backgrounds with plenty of breathing room around the frame.
