What's the best time of day to photograph a ceremony here?
Late afternoon ceremonies (3:30–5:00 PM) are ideal, as the sun angles from the west over the ocean, creating that signature golden light on the beachfront lawn. If you're planning a morning ceremony, the light is clean and bright, but we'd want to position you north-facing to avoid harsh shadows. We always scout timing with couples to maximize those California coast golden hour moments.
Where should we do couple portraits on the property?
We have several go-to spots: the oceanside bluff for dramatic scale and horizon lines, the Spanish archways near the main building for architectural framing, and the garden areas for intimate foreground-background separation. The variety lets us shoot 4–5 different looks without leaving the resort, which is perfect for a full coverage day.
How does the ocean light affect indoor reception photography?
The ballroom's proximity to the ocean means natural light can stream through windows during daytime receptions, creating beautiful ambient conditions. For evening events, the space relies on elegant house lighting and your uplighting, which we work with to create sophisticated, color-balanced images. We always do a pre-wedding walkthrough to meter the specific lighting design you choose.

Are there dedicated getting-ready spaces, and how far are they from ceremony sites?
Yes—the resort has multiple bridal suites with excellent natural light from oceanview windows, which is fantastic for getting-ready photography. The rooms are connected to the main building via interior hallways, so there's minimal time between final photos and the ceremony walk. We always coordinate with the resort coordinator to understand the flow, so we're positioned for that first-look moment without rushed timing.
