History of Ole Hanson Beach Club

The founder of the city of San Clemente, Ole Hanson, was an American politician who established the public beach club in 1928. Called the “Spanish Village by the Sea,” the club underwent a massive renovation in 2014 to preserve the architecture and integrity of the building, and reopened to the public in 2016.

Wedding ceremonies are held on the Grand Lawn, which is a beautifully manicured lawn framed by classic palm trees, and, of course, an ocean view.

The Main Room, an indoor space on the second floor of the venue, is the perfect place to dance the night away with your guests. Also great for cocktail hour or even your dinner reception, this enclosed space features original windows, detailed stained glass, and exposed wooden beams.

Parking

There is plentiful street parking in the cul de sac surrounding the venue. Guests may also park in the public parking lot located around the sides of the building and bordering the beach. Valet parking is available to host through the venue as well.

What amenities are available?

Your wedding at Ole Hanson Beach Club comes with a variety of amenities, such as Chiavari Fruitwood chairs, round cocktail tables, a sweetheart table, two wooden bars, white folding ceremony chairs, and even a security guard for the duration of your event.

What is the capacity?

Ole Hanson Beach Club can accommodate a total of 170 guests for your ceremony and reception. For only a cocktail style reception, up to 225 guests may attend.

Where can I host cocktail hour?

The East Terrace, located just outside the Main Room, is the perfect place for an outdoor cocktail hour. Guests merely need to walk up a beautiful tiled staircase to reach the private patio, which can be set up with bars, cocktail tables, and even lounge seating.

What rentals are available?

Linens and additional furniture rentals are available through 24 Carrots, including canopy tents, full-size patio heaters, and large ivory garden umbrellas, to name a few
