Nestled in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains, the Mountain Winery may be the most charming and picturesque wedding locale in all of Silicon Valley. The unrivaled panoramic views of the valley are green in the winter months and golden in the summer, but always magnificent. Year-round, the crisp, temperate mountain air, the rows of grapevines, and the verdant canopies of trees will grant you a refreshing reprieve from the hustle and bustle of civilization. Although you’re only a few miles above the quaint town of Saratoga, at a Mountain Winery wedding, you’ll feel transported to another world.
An official California Historic Landmark, the winery was founded in 1901 by French immigrant Paul Masson, also known as “The Champagne King of California.” He quickly began growing the finest grapes and producing world-renowned sparkling wines. When winemaking ceased in the 1950s, The Mountain Winery became a gathering spot for musical concerts. Hosting a Mountain Winery Wedding means being among the ghosts of all the great talent that has performed here, from Ella Fitzgerald to Stevie Wonder to The Beach Boys.
Today The Mountain Winery has resumed winemaking, but continues to draw musicians from a wide variety of genres for its concert series throughout the year.
The Mountain Winery is quite flexible about the number of guests you can accommodate at your wedding–anywhere from a minimum of 50 up to 2500 guests. Wedding parties often choose to have their ceremony on the Vista Deck. With flagstones beneath their feet, guests will watch you tie the knot before a lovely canopy of trees bordering the expanse of Silicon Valley.
The Redwood Deck is a wonderful space for cocktails or nibbles. It overlooks the famed concert bowl and the grand historic chateau built by Paul Masson. A reception on the Chateau Deck allows for clear, unfiltered views of the grandeur of Santa Clara Valley below.
This vineyard is truly one of a kind. Whether it’s bridal party photos or the first look, every part of Mountain Winery is perfect for a photo opt!
We love a location filled with beautiful backdrops. Having to drive to a different location can really put a delay on things but at Mountain Winery San Jose you get great shots for your First Look, Family Formals, etc!
The San Jose area is a wonderful melting pot of diverse cultures. The event planning team at The Mountain Winery will help you plan the wedding that meets your personal needs, like this exquisite Indian Baraat.
The view from the Chateau Deck is unbelievable! There really is nothing like this ceremony space in the San Jose area or SF area.
Does the winery have space for an indoor wedding?
Yes, the Grand Hall can seat up to 200 people banquet-style or 260 reception-style. With stone walls and barn-wood trestles above, it captures the rustic elegance of the winery.
Can I hire my own caterer?
The Mountain Winery asks wedding parties to use their on-site caterer, Global Gourmet Catering. They serve high-end, restaurant-caliber cuisine, and boast regular clients such as Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Apple. Guests typically rave about the food at The Mountain Winery, maybe as much as they do about the locale. And as you would expect, the house wines are excellent.
How do I start planning my wedding?
The Mountain Winery will provide you a personal wedding planner from their event planning team to meet all of your needs to have the Mountain Winery wedding of your dreams. Will there be wi-fi? Yes, onsite wi-fi is provided for all guests.
